Lost Peabody Cat and Others on Kill Lists.....

Each day, pets left at Kill Shelters or lost are euthanized, frequently by gassing.

If you're considering adding a furry critter to your family, please consider local shelters and rescue groups first.

Please support Spay and Neuter programs to end this daily tragedy.

Adoption and Transportation information available on links.

DO NOT call the shelter and say you are adopting unless you truly intend on physically going to the shelter to adopt the dog. It ties up phones lines and is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone for someone who is purposely not going to show up. They need every free second of their time to answer calls, assist actual adopters, process intakes, and care for the animals. More importantly, they will note the dog’s file that an adopter is en route which will prevent an actual adopter from saving the dog. This is considered a "fake adoption" hold and that is how dogs fall through the cracks and end up being killed.

For more information on a particular dog, email adoption@nycacc.org but ONLY if serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go unnoticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions.

TO BE DESTROYED 6/22/13 Manhattan - P (A0968305)
☆•°*”˜˜”*°•.☆°✜ HARDWELL ~ SEVEN MONTHS OLD :"(
AVERAGE SAFER/PUPPY ALERT !!This pup is so full of cuteness it's difficult to imagine how he can fit it all in one such small, adorable, wriggly body. Hardwell is the most delightful companion--he is submissive and waits for permission to do almost everything, from coming out of his kennel to getting on the bench next to you--but when you give him the go ahead he joins in with such delight and happiness. It's as if he can't believe he's lucky enough to be picked for anything, so we can only imagine how blissed out he'll be when he is picked to be in a family forever. Hardwell is so enchanting being in his company for 30 seconds is all we're thinking it will take for you to be won over. Can you imagine how happy you will feel years into a relationship with him? Can you imagine how happy he will feel? Don't miss the chance to adopt Hardwell and have more delight in your life than you will know what to do with.

The difference between dogs and humans is simple- It's LOYALTY, these precious souls will follow you to the end of the world and some humans in turn have NO idea what the word "Love" means and will dump them without reason ..... Fifi is still VERY young- she's been at the pound for a MONTH now with no interest... It's very hard for this baby girl to sit in a cage all day and just "wait" --- She is at the "toddler" stage of her life where she should be out running and playing and instead she sits behind bars day in and day out--- Her time is running out and we have to help her Ohio---- PLEASE consider saving Fifi- she deserves so much more than this! ♥

Tipper euthanized 6-17-2013
http://thehendricksonpost.com/tipper-euthanized-6-17-2013/

Please LIKE Medical Animals In Need (M.A.I.N.) for being a part of our program in seeing that EVERY animal has A Loving Goodbye and to share his story the world to maybe...just maybe save the live of another animal still fighting for their's. This is Tipper's story.
...
All too often animals come into a shelter destroyed after abuse or neglect. This is one of their stories. Tipper spent Friday on supportive care at the hospital and it was discovered through X-rays that his heart was congenitally enlarged – about 3 x normal size, in all chambers. The vets believe it was DCM (Dialated Cardiomyopathy). Prognosis for dogs diagnosed as adults is 6-24 months. It is always fatal either way but in puppies his age & size, a much much shorter expectancy. His temp was 94• when he came in & after all day on oxygen and heat support, they were only able to get the temp up to 99•. He could not breathe without oxygen & he was suffering by evening. The very difficult decision was made to help him cross the Bridge in our loving arms at M.A.I.N. in Phoenix, AZ. We are heart broken for his foster mom & dad, Kim & her husband, as this has been particularly difficult for them. They spent 4 days showing him more love than he’s ever known and we’re incredibly thankful for that. Tipper leaves behind a mom who he was rescued with, a foster family who misses him dearly and the team at M.A.I.N. who hopes his ending with bring light to animals euthanized in our nation. Tipper we love and miss you with all our hearts. You fought as hard as you could and we are sad that we lost another beautiful soul.
