Cleveland County Animal Control in Shelb...y North Carolina is a high kill open intake county run facility. All dogs and cats are guaranteed a 72 hour hold for owner reclaim. After 72 hours, the dogs/cats can be released for rescue/adoption or can be pts according to Animal Control's discretion. This is why we consider all animals there urgent as we do not know how long AC will hold. Adoptions are handled by Animal Control. If you are an individual wanting to adopt, you must contact Animal Control, go to Animal Control to adopt and pay fee. Animal Control is cash only. There are two options to adopt. Option 1 - a note or fax from your vet stating you will have dog/cat spayed or neutered is 60.00. Option 2 - Sign up through our local humane society for low cost spay/neuter at a cost of 100.00. Only 16 weeks ago, Bristol was born. But, for those 16 weeks of her young life, Bristol has had to endure so much pain and agony. Chained to the fence and left to be attacked, Bristol’s little body is covered with lacerations and deep punctures. Due to spinal damage, she has lost control of her hind legs. And, she has a shattered pelvis and broken leg.
