For more information on adopting please read the following: http://urgentpetsondeathrow.org/must-read/

DO NOT call the shelter and say you are adopting unless you truly intend on physically going to the shelter to adopt the dog. It ties up phones lines and is a waste of the staff's time to explain the adoption procedure over the phone for someone who is purposely not going to show up. They need every free second of their time to answer calls, assist actual adopters, process intakes, and care for the animals. More importantly, they will note the dog’s file that an adopter is en route which will prevent an actual adopter from saving the dog. This is considered a "fake adoption" hold and that is how dogs fall through the cracks and end up being killed.

For more information on a particular dog, email adoption@nycacc.org but ONLY if serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their in boxes and causing REAL adopter emails to go un-noticed. Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions.

URGENT DATE IS THURS 6/27
Skyward aka #737
Lab/Pit
Approx. 8mons old....approx. 45lbs.
This poor pup has had a rough few months of his life.
... He was found tied to a fence in the rear of a multifamily apartment building. His tie out was about 5 feet long and a piece of plywood against the fence was his shelter.
He was teased and taunted by area residents and kids for weeks maybe even months before someone FINALLY called about him..
He was "terrified" when he first met me but was thrilled to know he was out of there when I walked him away.
He is a very sweet dog with low confidence and alot of fear. He is learning that not all humans are bad.
Watch his video, doing so much better
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRUqgCO6tOM&feature=youtu.be
He wants to trust..can see it in his eyes. He needs a special person or family to give him the TLC he so desperately needs. He has the potential to be an incredible dog! He is good on leash.
Good with dogs he met. Come meet this pup and let him steal your heart like he did mine!
LEGAL DAY OF ADOPTION IS 6-27. Please email ctshelterdogs@gmail.com if you would like to schedule an appointment to meet this dog.
